Kwanthanze girls crowned FEASSSA Volleyball champions

Kwanthanze Girls High School has once again emerged victorious in the FEASSSA Volleyball Championships, successfully defending their title by defeating Kesogon Girls in a thrilling final match.
The tournament, held in Huye City, Rwanda, showcased some intense competition, but it was Kwanthanze who ultimately reigned supreme.
The clash between Kwanthanze and Kesogon was more than just a battle for the championship, it was also a chance for Kwanthanze to seek redemption.
In a previous encounter, Kesogon had emerged as the national champions in Kenya, defeating Kwanthanze in the process. This defeat had a significant impact on Kwanthanze, fueling their determination to come back stronger and reclaim their glory.
Head coach Justine Kigwari, had made it clear that his team’s focus was unwavering and that they would leave nothing to chance in the prestigious East Africa championship.
Kwanthanze’s performance throughout the tournament demonstrated this unwavering focus and determination, as they dominated their opponents with their exceptional skills and team coordination.
In the final match, both teams fought fiercely, showcasing their talent and determination to outshine each other. It was a gruelling battle that took five sets to determine the winner. Ultimately, Kwanthanze emerged triumphant, winning 3 sets to 2, and securing their fifth East Africa championship title.
While Kwanthanze celebrated their well-deserved victory, St. Aloys, representing Rwanda, claimed the third-place position by defeating Uganda’s Ngora High School. The home team displayed their dominance on the court, winning the match in straight sets.
In the boys’ category, Kenya’s representatives, Namwela, showcased their prowess, clinching the championship title after defeating Namugongo of Uganda. Namwela’s exceptional performance allowed them to triumph over their opponents, winning 3 sets to 1.
Unfortunately, Kenya’s champions, Andersen, who had previously defeated Namwela in the national championship, failed to advance past the group stages in the tournament. This unexpected turn of events showcased the fierce competition and unpredictability of the FEASSSA games.
In the third-place playoffs for the boys, it was an all-Uganda affair, with STAHIZZA emerging victorious over Bukedea. STAHIZZA showcased their talent and determination as they defeated their opponents in 3 sets to 1.
The 20th edition of the FEASSSA games came to a thrilling conclusion with the final matches held in Huye City, Rwanda. The tournament witnessed exceptional displays of skill, determination, and sportsmanship from all the participating teams, making it a memorable event for both players and spectators alike.
