Nairobi dominates Kenyan tennis team to FEASSSA 2023 in Rwanda

Kenya secondary school sports association has selected twenty four lawn tennis players to represent Kenya in the upcoming FEASSSA championship, scheduled to take place in Rwanda later this month.

In girls’ category, Cynthia Cheruto of Mbagathi Girls who was crowned KSSSA national lawn tennis champion, after defeating Hadassah Grace of Loreto Convent Msongari, will lead the pack to Rwanda after the national games that were held in Kakamega.

Sophie Nelima and Oresha Mercyline all of Mbagathi Girls also made it to the Kenyan team. The team also comprises of; Cheyech Faith and Vivian Kosgey, all from Kesogon Mixed Secondary School. Serena Linda of Kwanza Girls and Debbie Polo of Kahuhia Girls also made it represent Kenya.

Others are Adzam Rahab of St. Francis, Rehema Salama of Mivumoni secondary, Cindy Wanjii and Brenda Muyoka from M-pesa Foundation, and St. Kizito Sirende respectively.

In the boys category, Brandon Sagala who was crowned champion after defeating his Upperhill schoolmate Liberty Baraka will lead the boys’ team to Kigali.

Shadrack Kimalel’s duo Brian Nyabundi and James Munyu are also in the team as it is for Edward Mwakio of The Highway secondary school and Ian Atancha of Sameta.

Butula Boys’ Odimo Conrad also made it to the Kenyan team which is dominated by Nairobi’s representatives.

Others are David Fidel of M-Pesa Foundation, Regan Kimtai of Kipkeikei Boys, Jacob Karanja of Ngomeni, Benson Musyoka and Caleb Bett of St. Charles Lwanga and Chebitoka Secondary respectively.
