Midfielder hunts for new club as MCF future remain uncertain
Mully Children Home FC attacking Midfleder Erick Michubu is among the club’s players unperturbed by the recent turn of events at the club with reports suggesting that the Yatta based club is on brink of folding with the management citing financial constrains as a major cause .
Michubu is now directing his energies towards securing a place with other second tier clubs and hopefully the FKF Premier League outfits . He’s a seasoned player,having graced the field in numerous tournaments and leagues,making him an attractive proposition for many clubs
The 23- year old offensive player joined MCF FC three seasons ago from FKF Premier League outfit Murang’a Seal having turned out for the seals from division two level to the National Super League.
During his stint with the David Mahira coached MCF ,Michubu ,who boosts of his dribbling skills and pace managed to record more than ten assists each season. The former MKU player was at his peak in 2021/2022 campaign scoring eight times and further assisted 16 times .
In the just concluded campaign,he was hit with injuries though managed to create 12 goals for the side that it’s future now hangs on the balance.
” We received information on the eve of NSL conclusion that the team was no longer going to be there , it was a tough feeling and a frustrating one but now I’m ready to move on and secure a move elsewhere to further my development,” offered the midfielder who can also easily slot into the number 10 role.
For Erick , it’s the start of a new chapter in his football career ,even as he remains a free agent. One thing is certain : with his skills,passing accuracy, experience and unwavering commitment to the game ,he will be a valuable addition to any team he joins .
The embattled MCF FC finished the season ninth with 40 points from 32 games recording 11 wins ,10 draws and suffered defeats 11 times .
