Records fall in women’s 400m hurdles as Mwangi shines at Kasarani
Hannah Mwangi clocked a meet record of 57.44 to win the women’s 400m hurdles at the ongoing Kip Keino Classic at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.
In second place was Diana Chebet who timed a personal best of 59.40 as Jane Chege finished third in 59.97.
Speaking after the win, Mwangi said that the fact that Kasarani is her usual training ground worked in her favour.
“I have run my personal best and I’m so glad today. I had prepared well and I’m so happy. I normally train at the Kasarani, and I was courageous,” she said.
The win was her second in two weeks after she clocked 58.12 to win the women’s 400m hurdles at the 6th Athletics Kenya Track and Field Weekend Meeting at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.
