Kenya Airways has now withdrawn from existing Collective Bargaining Agreement and Recognition Agreement with the Kenya Airline Pilots Association, citing malice by the striking pilots.
In a letter addressed to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and KALPA, the airline indicated that its Board of Directors was pondering on what their next course of action would be.
Kenya Airways, on Saturday, warned the striking pilots they could be dismissed if they do not return to work immediately but the pilots have stood their guns, leading to the cancellation of dozens of flights and thousands of passengers stranded.
The pilots at one of Africa’s largest carriers downed tools from 6.00 a.m local time on Saturday, affecting business and leisure travellers at one of Africa’s most important aviation hubs.
