FKF on the spot for victimizing Starlet players

The Football Kenya Federation has once again found itself on the spot following claims of widespread mistreatment of a section of Harambee Starlets players who took part in the Cecafa 2018 bonanaza.

According to Rigena Human Rights Watchdog Organization, a registered organization tasked with the overall mandate of promoting human rights both inpublic and private institutions in Kenya, FKF has elected to victimize the said players after they raised concerns over their unpaid allowances accruing from the regional showpiece.

In a letter to the federation, the organization indicted the football body for what it termed as discourteous treatment of the players by suspending them from the national team after they went on a go-slow.

“Information filtering to the public as its that HARAMBEE STARLETS
CECAFA 2018 PLAYERS are undergoing mistreatment as some of the players
are not in the current team as the Federation called up a new set of girls when the older girls went on a go—slow over unpaid allowances sought redress at the time, and in several occasions over the past years, you shift the blame to the Ministry of sports and nobody appears to follow up for them and no one communicates to them upon several attempts to be paid their dues hence jeopardizing the innocent girls,” read part of the letter.

The federation was further fingered for its blatant disregard of the law with the organization threatening to seek legal redress for the girls should the fedration fail to comply within the 14-day period as directed.
