Odibets: Betting firm pays out third six-figure win in as many weeks to Trans Nzoia businesswoman
The slow return of sporting activities, including football, after nearly three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic has come as a welcome for many a punter in Kenya, where sports betting has become a popular engagement for both the employed and the jobless.
Immediately the Bundesliga returned with Matchday 26 on 16 May, many a punter were excited and sought to find out which of the betting platforms could give them not just the best odds but could give them a friendly platform to navigate.
One such platform is Odibets, who launched a new website and since then, just three weeks on, the firm has paid out more than KSh1 million to three lucky winners.
A resident of Trans Nzoia County, a lady by the name Lydiah Mutinga is the latest winner on Odibets after her stake of KSh7 earned her KSh 450,237 from a multibet of nine outcomes.
Mutinga, who is a businesswoman, says this is the biggest win since she started betting sometime in 2019.
On the same weekend, a Uber driver from Nairobi’s Embakasi had made KSh505,692 from a stake of KSh208, barely a fortnight after Anthony Mugami had won KSh300,674 from KSh10 on Bundesliga matches.
With the Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A and the English Premier League all set for resumption in a matter of days, many a punter are looking forward to placing their bets with the hope that just like the trio who have won big on Odibets, they too would be as lucky.
