FKF polls shrouded in deeper crisis as potential aspirants vow to stop the exercise

Three aspirants in the forthcoming Football Kenya Federation (FKF) top seat and several branch officials have vowed to halt the election exercise unless the many glaring illegalities and irregularities contained in the Electoral code 2019 are addressed.

Led by former FKF president Sam Keengu Nyamweya,former Vihiga Governor Moses Akharanga and Andrew Amukoa ,they unanimously vowed not to participate in a flawed exercise which has been determined and sealed.

“If they fail to comply with our demands,stakeholders will take action that includes involving world soccer body FIFA, CAS,Government and the Sports Tribunal. They urged government security organs led by Director of criminal investigations (DCI) George Kinoti to intervene as millions of money from Fifa and the Government has been embezzled.

 “The Government gave Nick Mwendwas administration a whooping Ksh.240m and a further 100m from CAF to cater for Harambee Stars participation in the Afcon tournament in Egypt, unfortunately the team was eliminated early.Therefore, where did the balance go, and instead we are hearing referees have not been paid while the women football is in limbo due to cash crisis ?

The Government gave Nick Mwendwas administration a whooping Ksh.240m and a further 100m from CAF to cater for Harambee Stars participation in the Afcon tournament in Egypt, unfortunately the team was eliminated early and they flew back,where is the balance of the said money?Nobody has told Kenyans even about the Ksh.135 million advanced by Fifa to purchase the OB Van,this are some of the glaring issues we demand the DCIO to investigate. We have tangible evidence and communications that can warrant the entire exercise to be stopped “Observed Nyamweya.

Addressing the media at the Hotel Boulevard, Akharanga who read the signed statement said the composition of the FKF board is quite suspicious. The former Governor averred that the FKF electoral board is an illegality and a public relations stunt that lacks credibility and Electoral integrity.

“The passing of the FKF code 2019 is fundamentally flawed and cannot guarantee a fair,free and transparent elections. For example, Elynah Shiveka sat in a panel on Tuesday Oct 1st to determine an appeal SDT No 21 filed by FKF sub branch officials versus FKF only to surface and be appointed to the FKF Electoral Board on Oct 5th 2019.” Akharanga noted.

He went on to say “Article 3(4)(C) of the Fifa standard Electoral code prohibits appointment of a Government official of any kind from being appointed to the Electoral committee.This disqualifies Shiveka from being a member of the Election board committee.Prof.Edwin Wamukoya is an appointee of the FKF NEC and is currently serving in an internal organ of the federation as a member of the club licensing committee and is thus conflicted.He is a man on a mission to protect the interest of the incumbent and it ingrains the status quo”

Asked about Mwendwas assertion that they inherited a lot of debts from the previous office,Nyamweya  send the audience to prolonged laughter when he said ” When you take a new office,you take everything including assets and liabilities.when you marry a woman with children,do you kick out the kids ?he wondered.

Branch officials who included Elly Mukolwe,Ali Swaleh from Baharini,Peter Kimani(Nyeri sub branch),Charles Nyauma(Nyamira) and Julius Kivalah (Makueni) and Angeline Mwikali among others accused Mwendwas administration of sidelining branches countrywide.
