Several people feared dead after collision at unofficial racing event in Kajiado

An unknown number of Kenyans and Tanzanians have died after a collision involving several vehicles at the border town of Arusha during an unofficial street racing event. 

Unconfirmed reports said only eight people died during the gory accident but the official numbers are yet to be established.

Kurunzi understands the event had been planned for several months through a Whatsapp group with membership mainly comprising racing enthusiasts.

The event was being on the Tanzania side of the border between the two countries, with several such events reportedly happening regularly at the border towns of Namanga and Arusha.
